Patrick Campbell
In 1991 when I was 11 years old we went on a family vacation
to Washington D.C. my grandma had bought a surprise gift
for me. My first camera! Growing up I always had a camera
nearby for family parties and just for fun. In junior high
and high school I was a photographer and was always part
of the school yearbook staff.
Since family and friends liked my photo work, I decided
to learn more about photography. In 1997 I attended Glen
Oaks Community College in Centreville, Michigan. I purchased
my first professional camera and read numerous books on
photography. After attending college I was in a self-study
program and learned new and different techniques by mentoring
under professional photographers Bruce Roberts and Darlene
Schlosser. This hands on experience gave me a new perspective
and even greater admiration for photography. Later, I started
working for hire as a photographer for family, friends,
their children, graduating seniors, birthday parties, anniversaries
and weddings. Since 1997, I’ve had the opportunity
to work with and photograph many interesting people. When
going through my family scrapbooks I get heartfelt from
the memories brought back from the past, the thought that
I helped in “Making Memories Last Forever” for
you and your family to relive is a great feeling.
