How do I choose a photographer?
Photography
is an art and medium that meets the eye! Everyone has a certain
idea of what is good and bad. I recommend looking at the photographs
carefully. Are the photographs clear, is there an essence that
catches your eye? Do the bride and groom look comfortable in
the photos? Then see if the photographer is easy to get along
with and will work with you. Are the packages priced right?
Will your album be just ok or striking?
Do you bring
back up equipment?
Yes! I have
backup cameras, lenses, and flash equipment with me on my assignments.
How
do I secure a specific date?
A signed
contract and non-refundable retainer are required to reserve
your event date. Popular times summer through fall book 8-14
months in advance. All dates are reserved on first signed contract
and received retainer basis.
Are you available to travel
out of state?
Yes! I have traveled through Illinois, Indiana and Michigan
for wedding assignments. Travel expenses will be negotiated.
Do
you retouch photos?
Yes! Photographs are retouched on individual basis as needed. Almost anything
is possible. Minor retouching is included - acne, under eye bags and small scratches.
More extensive retouching is priced individually.
Do you restore old photographs?
Yes! We all have older photographs that may have faded, torn, jagged edges or
even water marks. After reviewing the photograph with you, we can decide what
you are looking for and a quote can be made.

Graduating Senior Portraits
When do most people get their pictures taken?
Some
are photographed before school’s out. Most photograph
during summer break. Beware of yearbook deadlines! Once school
resumes times are short as schedules get busier. Best bet is
to call or e-mail us for your appointment, weeks or months
in advance.
What to wear?
Bring a lot of clothing choices
so we can pick out the best for you and the scene you are in.
If you are a casual person, still bring at least one dressy
outfit for a classic look. To personalize yourself bring things
that are cool to you – class ring, hats, instruments,
pet, sunglasses, varsity jacket, team jerseys, trophies, sports
equipment, or your car.
What about my hair, tan, make-up and glasses?
It
is recommended to get your hair cut or permed a week or two
in advance before your senior session so it can “fill
in”. Tans are cool. Sunburn is bad! Limit exposure days
before your session and beware of tan lines! If you wear make-up
use minimally and do not use glitter. If you wear glasses most
of the time, then you will want to wear them in your portraits.
Contact your optician in plenty of time to arrange to borrow
a pair of empty frames. (Most will gladly do this for free.)
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, a parent and friends
are welcome, it will help you be more relaxed and they can
get you to smile “just right!”
How long does this session last? When do I see my retouched
previews?
Your session takes about approximately two hours and
your retouched previews will be ready within 2-3 weeks.
Where should I have the session?
Location
Ideas: Be original and find a location that only you will have.
Know an old barn; rustic house; fences; rusting trucks; interesting
buildings. Drive around and find an interesting place, ask
the owner if you could be photographed there. Most people are
flattered that you would like to use their yard! Indoor studio
photography is available also.
